Why do you sell only digital PDF patterns?

Digital files are much more easier to send and receive worldwide and they are easily printable at home, or in a stationary shop. Also, they are ecological, as you may chose to read the tutorial on your computer without printing it at all if you prefer. I use PDF because it is the standard format used by most reading applications, Adobe Acrobat included.

What printing format do you offer?

My patterns are in A4, US Letter and some also in AO and A1 formats. Please always print the patterns as "real 100% dimensions", don't resize them as they will become on scale, or warped. If you have any troubles when printing, try changing your printing machine, or the pdf reader used.

I don't have Adobe Reader, but another reader software. Will it work the same?

It could, but I am not 100% sure. It is better if you install Adobe Reader, as it is free and should work at its best to read and print the files.

Will you sell Projector PDF files in the future?

Not right now, but I may eventually offer them in the future. You can try using my patterns on your home projector, but I cannot assure you that it will work as they are not optimized for it.

Do you offer refuds? I changed my mind and I do not want the patterns anymore...

I am sorry, because of the nature of digital patterns I cannot offer refunds, nor returns on your patterns purchases.

How historically accurate are your sewing patterns and your tutorials?

I offer 3 types of patterns:

1) Patterns from my Antique collection. Surely those are the most historically accurate, as they are digitilized by me from me antique garments. As for now there are mostly corsets on sale, but I also have some bodices and dresses that I will digitilize in the future. They only come in Fixed Size.

2) Historical style patterns. I usually make those using historical drafting techniques from antique books. The shapes and styles are usually based on photos that I use as reference for study from museums antiques, other private collectors, or antique fashion plates (there is usually the bibliography with each website link in the tutorial). Because those patterns are fully designed by me they may feature: personalizations on my part, reiterpretations from my personal taste. They are surely less accurate than the antique ones (but I always do my best to make them the most accurate that I can). Some of those patterns may be intentionally less historical for personal reinterpratations ( I usually write when and where in my tutorials descriptions). Also as I like to have my brands artisanal designs (copyright Butterfly Garments), I may add specific decorations fully created and imagined by me to match the antique garments. You may see one of my Butterfly Garment design here for example. They usually come in Standard Multisizes.T

3) Fantasy and Modern patterns. As the title suggests those are not historical. They usually come in Standard Multisize.

What languages do you offer for your tutorials?

Right now most of my tutorials are in ENGLISH, but I offer some of them also in ITALIAN.

There is a small mistake in the pattern lines, a typo in the text, or anything I do not like... Can I contact you?

Sure! please send me an email at info@butterflygarments.shop and explain all of that to me. I have a specific section called Patterns Revisions, where I update my patterns when there is a mistake or if I decide to change part of the style or shape or anything else.

I wish for a custom made pattern with my specific size. I wish for a specific tutorial. Do you offer those?

Sure, for a custom made digital pattern with your measurements you can always buy one here

I have seen an antique costume from a museum and I fell in love with it. Would you make a standard sizes pattern and its tutorial from it?

Sure I would love to! Please send me an email, or a message on my contact page, or on my Instagram page with photos and links of the garment and I'll see what I can do! I cannot assure you when and if I will make it, but I will keep it in mind for future listings!

Do I need to leave a feedback?

You are under no obbligation to leave any feedback, however for me as a small artisan business owner it is very important to receive (I hope) a positive review from you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐and to "have" an happy customer who I know will love my tutorials. Also, if you wish to share a photo of your finished costume, or if you have any problems concerning your purchase, please send me an email at info@butterflygarments.com 🦋

I wish to know what pattern you will sell next... How can I do it?

I do not have a newsletter service, but you can stay Updated on my new sewing patterns, on my new costumes and on curiosities about historical fashion through my socials.

I like one of your Costumes or your Corset, I would like to purchase one of them. How can I do it?

I am not usually making costumes on order, but  you can still purchase some of my corsets, or costumes on my Etsy store. If you wish for a bespoke custom made costume and you live in Italy you can contact me privately on my social accounts, or on my contact page, to talk about it.
